Detail Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Arrive Delhi International Airport, after meet and greet by local tour manager, transfer to hotel.
Overnight: hotel in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi – Chandigarh by Train Departure 07:40 Arrival: 1105 Chandigarh – Mandi Drive 210Km
In the morning, transfer to railway station for Chandigarh bound train. On arrival drive to Mandi.
On arrival transfer to hotel.
Day 3: Mandi – Manali Drive 110 Km
Morning after breakfast drive to the famous Rawalsarlake (Tso Pema to Tibetans). At opposite ends of the lake there are two Tibetan monasteries. After that, visit Rewalsarwhich has a Hindu temple and a Sikh Gurudwara. Later drive to Manali. In the evening visit Hadimba Temple/Doongri Temple. The temple is dedicated to the local deity Hadimba built in 1553 AD, and having four-tiered pagoda shaped roof and a front doorway carved with figures and symbols.
Day 4: MANALI – KEYLONG – JISPA Drive 141 Km 8 hours
We begin our adventurous journey on the newly opened routes across the great Himalayan Divide. Leaving behind the peaceful meadows and pine – clad hills of Lahaul and Manali we startour way up and over to the first barrier on our route i.e. The Rohthang pass (4820 mts). It is still only a foretaste of things to come! After traversing the high pass, we will head for the small village of Keylong(The District headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti), situated on the banks of Bhaga river. From here we continue our drive up to Jispa (32 Km).
Day 5: JISPA – SERCHU Drive 132 Km – 8 hours
In the morning after breakfast we begin a short drive toDarcha village where we connect with Manali – Leh road ( This is the starting point of Manali – Zanskar trek). Here we will climb the windswept Baralacha pass (4982 mts), a precipitous ascent up the mountainside. Along the way,spectacular snow bound ranges of Barashigri, Chandra Bhaga and the Mulkila and their summits towering well above (5943 mts) can be seen. The top of the pass is the focal point of the great Himalayan Divide, and once completed, we begin to thread our way slowly down a precariously narrow track to Serchu for overnight camp.

Day 6: SERCHU – LEH Drive 251 Km – 8 hours
Early morning, we climb a dizzy series of 21 hair pin bends known as Gata loops to reach the rarefied air of the Lachung -La (6498 mts). Then we arrive on the highest plateau in the World, also called moore plains, at an altitude of 4511 mts.(14800 ft), surrounded by gigantic mountain peaks. We begin to climb again, this time upto the Taglang – La pass 5328 mts. (17481 ft), the highest point of our journey. We make a slow descent to reach Rumtse for lunch. From here we continue our journey to Leh and check into hotel.

Day 7: In LEH
After Breakfast visit Leh Palace. This 9 storey palace was built in 17th century for King SinggeNamgyal. Today this palace is a branch of Indian Government’s archaeological conservation organization. There is a Victory Tower above the palace, at the top of the Namgyal hill. Then visit NamgyalTsemoGompa (Monastery) above the Leh Palace, built in 1430 which is open only during the morning puja. An amazing statue in gold of the Maitreya Buddha as high as three stories together with many idols and Buddhist scriptures is seen here. Near the monastery is an old fort, which, because of neglect, lies mostly in ruins now.

Day 8: In Leh
After breakfast explore visit Shey, Thiksy and Hemis. Shey is the former palace of upper Ladakh before Leh was established. Thiksy is one of the most imposing monasteries in the Indus valley. Hemis is a magnificent monastery, lying in a small isolated valley south of the Indus.

Day 9: Leh – Alchi Drive 90 Km
Morning after breakfast we leave Leh. We pass Basgo where an ancient ruined fortress is built atop the wind eroded cliffs. Later visit the monastery at Likir, a beautiful building, reminiscent of the Potala Palace in Lhasa. From here we drive to Yangtang village from where there is the option to walk to Ridzong monastery, set hidden in a valley. After Ridzong we rejoin the Indus again, which we follow tillSaspol village. Just after the village we cross this mighty river and drive to Alchi, a pretty village set in a grove of apricot trees.

Day 10: Alchi – Lamayuru Drive 70Km Lamayuru – Leh Drive 110Km
After breakfast, we make an excursion to Lamayuru which is one of the most popular villages and an ideal stopover between the Kargil-Lehroute. We visit theLamayuru monastery which houses a rich collection of artifacts, wall paintings, statues, and an impressive 11-headed, 1000 eyed image of Chenzing. Apart from the monastery, Lamayuru also attracts tourists for its beautiful landscape which is quite similar to the lunar territory. Although it’s quite remote, it is a favourite jaunt for photographers and trekkers. After lunch drive back to Leh. In the evening explore local market at Leh.

Day 11: leh – delhi flght
In the morning transfer to airport for Delhi bound flight. On arrival transfer to hotel. Later depart for half day city tour of old Delhi. Begin with a visit toRaj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the nation was cremated in 1948. Thereafter proceed to the magnificent Red Fort(closed on Mondays) built of red sandstone, dating from the very peak of the Mughal power. Then, Rickshaw Ride through Chandni Chowk. After that, visit to black and white onion domes and minarets of the Jama Masjid, the most elegant mosque in India. After Lunch, drive past RashtrapatiBhavan (the Presidential Palace) and the Secretariat buildings – the centre of Government activity, down to the impressive Rajpath (the main avenue), to the World War I memorial arch, India Gate, the High Court Building and the Old Fort. Visit Humayun’s Tomb built in 1565 AD by his grieving widow Haji Begum, the QutubMinar, a 72 metres high minaret and the ruins of Quwat-ul-Eslam (Light of Islam) Mosque. Here, see Delhi’s most curious antique, the uncorroded Iron Pillar, which dates back to the 4th century AD.

Day 12: departureTransfer to airport for onward journey.
