Day 1: Fly To India

Day 2: Arrive Kolkata
Arrive at Kolkata Airport, where you will be welcomed by our local tour manager. After a warm meet and greet, transfer to your hotel.

Day 3: Kolkata – Dibrugarh - Fly
After breakfast, transfer to Kolkata airport to board your flight to Dibrugarh, one of the major cities in Assam. Upon arrival, meet your guide at the airport and proceed to Dibrugarh, renowned as the historic and tea capital of Assam. The city holds a significant place in history, having served as a strategic air force base for the U.S. Army during World War II. Dibrugarh is also known for its rich reserves of oil and natural gas. If time permits, enjoy a visit to the local market to experience the town's vibrant culture and daily life.

Day 4: Dibrugarh – Pasighat (150 Kms / 3 Hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Pasighat, the oldest town in Arunachal Pradesh, nestled along the banks of the Siang River—known as the Brahmaputra once it enters Assam. Surrounded by misty mountains, lush paddy fields, and subtropical forests, Pasighat is famed for its breathtaking natural beauty. En route or upon arrival, you may visit the recently opened World War II Museum, which showcases fascinating artifacts and narratives from the time when this region served as a key route for Allied forces during the war. Evening we will explore the local market of the town

Day 5: In Pasighat
After breakfast, set out to explore the region’s rich cultural and natural heritage. Begin with a visit to nearby Adi villages, where you can observe traditional lifestyles and customs. Continue to a local craft center and museum to gain deeper insights into the region’s indigenous art, history, and craftsmanship. Later, enjoy a scenic boat ride to the charming riverside town of Mebo on the Sang River, renowned for its stunning landscapes and serene atmosphere. In the afternoon, visit the villages of Padam and Aohahi, home to the Idu Mishmi tribe, known for their unique traditions and way of life.

Day 6: Pasighat – Along (120 Kms / 5-6 Hrs)
After breakfast, depart for Aalo (formerly Along), a scenic drive through the lush hills and valleys of Arunachal Pradesh. En route, enjoy the ever-changing landscape dotted with orange orchards, swaying fields of millet and buckwheat, and tranquil valleys. Aalo, a charming town at the confluence of the Sipu and Siyom (Yomgo) Rivers, is primarily inhabited by the Galo tribe. The twin rivers that flow through the heart of the town enhance its serene beauty. Upon arrival, visit nearby Adi villages including Jirdin, Kabu, and Kaying, where you’ll witness local life and traditions. Don’t miss the remarkable 70-meter- long suspension bridge, ingeniously crafted from bamboo and reeds—an important link for cultural and trade exchange among local tribes. Later, set off on a short trek (approximately 3–4 hours) to the village of Komsing, home to the Minyong tribe. The journey offers both cultural insight and scenic vistas of the surrounding countryside

Day 7: Along – Daporijo (150 Kms / 4- 5 Hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Daporijo, a picturesque town that serves as the district headquarters of Upper Subansiri. En route, enjoy the scenic landscapes of forested hills and river valleys. Daporijo is home to several indigenous tribes, including the Tagin, Galo, Hill-Miri, and Nah communities. Located at the confluence of the Subansiri and Siyom Rivers, the town is surrounded by lush greenery and offers a tranquil, off-the-beaten-path experience. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. In the evening, explore the local market, where you’ll find traditional handicrafts, fresh local produce, and perhaps get a chance to sample Apong, the region’s popular homemade rice beer. With its strong cultural roots and age-old customs still very much alive, Daporijo offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich tribal heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.

Day 8: Daparijo – Ziro (160 Kms / 4 Hrs)
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin your journey to Ziro—a serene and picturesque valley situated at an altitude of 1,560 meters in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. Surrounded by pine-clad hills and verdant rice fields, Ziro is the cultural heartland of the Apatani tribe, renowned for their sustainable agricultural techniques and unique traditions, such as facial tattoos and large nose plugs traditionally worn by women. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and take time to relax amidst the tranquil surroundings. Ziro's landscape is not only visually stunning but also agriculturally remarkable. Its innovative wet rice cultivation system, practiced in harmony with fish farming (pisciculture), has earned it a nomination for UNESCO World Heritage status. Enjoy the peaceful ambiance and prepare for an immersive cultural experience.

Day 9: In Zero
To gain deeper insight into the Apatani way of life, we will spend the day exploring traditional villages such as Hong, Dutta, and Hari. These villages are known for their unique layout, where houses are built closely together, reflecting a strong sense of community. As we walk through the settlements, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with the locals—especially the elder women who still bear facial tattoos and wear traditional nose plugs, living in accordance with age-old customs. Later, we’ll visit the Apatani farmlands, where their renowned wet rice cultivation and integrated fish farming methods are practiced. A stroll through the local market will offer further insights into Apatani culture, including their cuisine, clothing, jewelry, and daily essentials. We will also visit a local winery in Ziro, where you can learn about and sample traditionally made beverages that reflect the flavors and practices of the region.

Day 10: Ziro – Itanagar (100 Kms / 2 Hrs)
Drive to Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, a city were modern development blends with ancient heritage. Much of the city’s architecture consists of newer constructions built atop the remnants of 14th-century fortifications, offering a subtle glimpse into its historical roots. A highlight of your visit is the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum, one of the most captivating museums in the country. It provides a rich overview of not only Arunachal Pradesh but also the broader cultural and historical fabric of India. Particularly impressive are the life-sized bamboo and reed models of tribal homes, along with a remarkable collection of traditional tools and handicrafts still in use today by communities living in the region’s remote and rugged terrains.

Day 11: Itanagar – Kaziranga National Park (200 Kms / 4 Hrs)
After breakfast, enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of Itanagar before departing for Kaziranga National Park, renowned for sheltering more than two-thirds of the world’s Indian rhinoceros’ population. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Time permitting, we will embark on a thrilling jeep safari through the park to explore its rich wildlife and lush landscapes.

Day 12: Kaziranga National Park – Shillong (270 Kms / 5 Hrs)
Begin the day with an early morning safari in Kaziranga National Park, offering a chance to witness its diverse wildlife in the serenity of dawn. After breakfast, depart for Shillong—the charming capital of Meghalaya, once referred to by the British as the "Scotland of the East." Known for its pleasant climate, colonial-era architecture, and rich folklore, Shillong offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and relax for the evening.

Day 13: Shillong – Day Trip To Cherrapunjee (56 Kms / 2 Hrs)
After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Cherrapunji—locally known as Sohra—famed for receiving the highest average annual rainfall in the world (around 11,000 mm). The drive itself is a scenic journey through deep gorges, rolling hills, and lush tropical vegetation. Cherrapunji is celebrated for its dramatic landscapes, roaring waterfalls, and mysterious limestone caves. En route, take a detour to the Mawphlang Sacred Grove—an ancient forest preserved by the Khasi tribe. This sacred grove is a sanctuary where nothing may be removed—not a single leaf or stone—and is home to rare, medicinal, and endemic plant species, reflecting the deep ecological wisdom of the local community. Continue to the Garden of Caves, a hidden gem nestled within a forest. This enchanting site features a series of natural caves, waterfalls, and intriguing rock formations. The interplay of sunlight, water, and greenery creates a serene and magical ambiance at every turn. One of the highlights of the day is a visit to Nohkalikai Falls, plunging dramatically from a height of 1,115 feet—making it one of the tallest waterfalls in India. The falls are steeped in local legend, adding a mystical layer to the already awe-inspiring view from the cliffside viewpoint. In the late afternoon, drive back to Shillong. Please note: during the dry season, some waterfalls may have reduced flow or may temporarily dry up. Return to the hotel in Shillong.

Day 14: Shillong – Guwahati (120 Kms / 2 Hrs) – Drive Guwahati – Kolkata - Fly
After breakfast, transfer to the airport in Guwahati for your flight to Kolkata. On arrival transfer to your hotel

Day 15: In Kolkata
After breakfast visit St. Paul's Cathedral which was consecrated in 1847. It is a tall white Gothic building with a stained glass window by Burne Jones. After that visit Missionary Centre of Mother Teresa, Goddess Kali Temple (Dakshineshwar Kali Temple), built in 1847, on the banks of the Hooghly, north of Kolkata. After lunch visit Victoria Memorial which is a massive domed building of white marble from Rajasthan. It was inaugurated in 1921 by the Prince of Wales. Then visit Indian Museum, established on 2 nd Feb 1814. The museum is particularly famous for its zoological and geological collections. Also visit Botanical Garden, the oldest in the country. The main attraction is the 250 year old banyan tree with nearly 2,000 aerial roots, making it the largest tree of its kind in the world.

Transfer to Kolkata airport for onward journey.
